GM Neuris Delgado wins ITT ABC Color

The ITT Chess Tournament Copa ABC Color took place between January 25th and February 2nd at the Asunción-Altajedrez Club in Paraguay. GM Neuris Delgado was the winner of the event.

GM Delgado, who used to play under the Cuban flag, didn’t have any problems to take the winner’s trophy. He achieved 7,5/9 and left the closest follower – the Chilean GM Rodrigo Vasquez – 1,5 points behind.

This tournament was the first competitive event that the Paraguayan legend GM Zenon Franco played in his country after a long hiatus. He had a regular performance, getting 5 points by the end of the tourney. One of the players that managed to beat him was IM Leonardo Tristan, who finished in third place with 5.5 points.
