GM Sergey Kudrin Wins Northeast Open in Connecticut

The 19th Annual Northeast Open was held from August 16-18, 2013, at the Sheraton Hotel, 700 Main St, Stamford, Connecticut.

The event had four sections: Open, Under 2050, Under 1650 and Under 1250. All sections were played over five rounds of Swiss system.

Local Grandmaster Sergey Kudrin took a clear first place with 4,5/5 points and earned 1000 USD for the effort.

Open section final standings:
1. GM Sergey Kudrin 2579 CT (1st, $1000) – 4,5
2-4. GM Michael A Rohde 2548 NY, WGM Firuza Velikhanli 2289 NY (2nd-3rd, $400 each) and Nicholas Ryba 2226 NY (1st U2250, $600) – 4,0
5-6. Avraam Pismennyy 2295 MA, Yefim Treger 2256 NY (shared 4th, $100 each), Mikhail Koganov 2209 CT, Michael Finneran 2176 CT (shared 2nd U2250, $150 each) – 3,5 etc

The event had a $8,000 prize fund, unconditionally guaranteed.
