GM Sergey Kudrin wins the Manhattan Open

The 11th Annual Manhattan Open was held from August 17-19, 2012, at the New Yorker Hotel, 481 Eighth Ave at 34th St. across from Penn Station, New York, NY.

Grandmaster Sergey Kudrin won the Open Section, finishing with an undefeated 5/6 and collecting $2,700 in prize money. Kudrin only gave up draws to his two nearest rivals, Grandmaster Vladimir Romanenko and Igor Sorkin, who both finished just a half-point back on 4½/6.

The event had 10 sections: Open, Under 2300, Under 1900, Under 1700, Under 1500, Under 1300, Under 1100, Under 900 and Under 700. All sections were 6 round Swiss tournaments.

The event had a $35,000 prize fund, unconditionally guaranteed.
