Turkish grandmaster Vahap Sanal and Serbian Women grandmaster Teodora Injac today played against each other at the 2022 Serbia Chess Open in Novi Sad. 24-year-old Vahap and 22-year-old Teodora are a charming couple who today took the role of the chess opponents. Three over-the-board games they played earlier ended in a draw, and the same result happened in their fourth (recorded) encounter today.
They chose an interesting line to go – exactly the same which was seen yesterday in the R12 FIDE Candidates game Ian Nepomniachtchi vs Hikaru Nakamura. The game between Vahap and Teodora ended after 15 moves and 3 minutes of play, while Nepomniachtchi and Nakamura needed 7 minutes to sign a 14-moves draw in a famous theoretical line.

With 4/5 points, WGM Teodora Injac is showing an impressive performance in the Masters group. She defeated two grandmasters: GM Evgeny Zanan and GM Daniel Howard Fernandez, and drew against GM Vitaliy Bernadskiy and GM Vahap Sana. Serbia Chess Open will be good preparation for Injac before the 44th Chess Olympiad, where she plays the first board for the Serbian Women’s National Team.
