GM Vidit Santosh Gujrathi clear first in Lake Sevan Tournament

The 16th Lake Sevan International Chess Tournament was held from 26th July to 4th August 2014 in Martuni, a town in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia, located on the southern shores of Lake Sevan.

Indian Grandmaster Vidit Santosh Gujrathi emerged victorious with 6,0 points from nine games, leaving the local GM Hrant Melkumyan and Russian hope Vladimir Fedoseev half a point behind. Santosh Gujrathi also added 19 points to his rating.

The event was organized by the Armenian Chess Academy in conjunction with the Armenian Chess Federation in a 10 player round-robin format. The average elo was 2629.
