GM Yangyi Yu and GM Zhongyi Tan win Chinese Chess Championships 2021

Chinese Open and Women’s Chess Championships 2021 took place simultaneously in Xinghua Jiangsu from May 7- May 15. Both events were played in a single round-robin format, within 11 rounds and time control 90′ + 30″.

GM Yu Yangyi, GM Wei Yi and GM Li Di scored 7 points each in the Open section. On tiebreak, Yu Yangyi claimed the title of the Chinese National Champion 2021. Wei Yi came second, while Li Di was third.

GM Tan Zhongyi emerged a clear winner in the Women’s championship with 8,5/11 points. She was followed by WIM Ning Kaiyu and WGM Zhu Jiner, sharing second place with 8 points.
