GMs Hayrapetyan and Babujian win 76th Armenian Championship – First League

Armenia flagThe 76th Armenian Individual Championship First League took place from August 21 to September 3, 2015, in the Armenian capital Yerevan.

The event was a 14-player round-robin tournament with tempo of play 90′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″.

GM Hovik Hayrapetyan and GM Levon Babujian tied for the first place at 9.5 points each, but Hayrapetyan grabbed the title on a superior tie-break score.

IM Manuel Petrosyan finished sole third with 8 points.

The first three players qualified for the Premier League tournament of Armenian Men’s Championship that will take place in January, 2016.
