Two times European champion Valentina Gunina from Russia demolished the opposition on the first day of the 2016 IMSA Elite Minds Games – Blitz to emerge leader with the perfect 10/10 score.
Far behind on the second place is her compatriot Kateryna Lagno with 7,0 points and on third place is former world champion Antoaneta Stefanova with 6,5 points.
In the men’s section the tournament is more closely contested. After the first ten rounds Chinese star Ding Liren and Pentala Harikrishna from India are sharing the lead with 7,5/10 points each. Russian champion Evgeny Tomashevsky is third with 6,5 points.
