Hikaru Nakamura lost the last round of the FIDE Candidates Chess Tournament 2022 finishing the event in shared third place with 7.5 points. Nakamura needed a draw against Ding Liren to clinch silver and get the chance to participate in the World Chess Championship Match since Magnus Carlsen considers to retire from it.
