Hipolito Asis wins I International Closed Tournament UE Montcada

Spanish IM Hipolito Asis took first place at the I International Closed Tournament “UE Montcada” that took place from February 15th to March 24th at the Miquel Poblet pavilion in Montcada, Spain.

Asis finished in the clear lead after obtaining 7 points in 9 rounds, leaving his closest follower a whole point behind. Korean FM Jose Camacho ended up second, while Argentinian IM Marcelo Panelo edged two other players on tiebreaks to get the third place in the tournament.

The participants played on Friday’s evenings and Sunday’s afternoons to complete the 9 rounds of the single round-robin tournament.
