Ian Nepomniachtchi heading the players list at Moscow Open 2013

With one week left to register for the Moscow Open 2013 there are already more than 700 players signed to participate in the 113,000 USD worth Chess Festival.

The Festival will run during the student holidays from January 31st to February 10th. It includes eight competitions: Russian Cup events for men and women, MCF Amateur Cup, MCF veteran Cup, youth and problem solving tournaments, and two round-robin GM-norm events for young players.

Aleksandr Shimanov and Olga Girya are top seeded in the respective round robin events for young players.

Ian Nepomniachtchi (2703), Ernesto Inarkiev (2688) and Vladimir Potkin (2665) are in the field for the Russian Cup for men.

Baira Kovanova (2387) from Saratov, Moscow’s Alina Kashlinskaya (2350) and Marina Romanko (2349) are top seeded in the Russian Cup for women.
