IM Irina Bulmaga convincing in Braila

The 7th edition of the Annual Women’s International Tournament “Maria Albulet Memorial” took place on 3-12th Septeber 2014 at the Memorial House “Petre Stefanescu-Goangă” in Braila, the 11th most populous city in Romania.

10 players from 4 different countries took part in a round-robin event. First seeded IM/WGM Irina Bulmaga stormed through the tournament, finishing clear first with 8/10 and leaving the nearest followers 2,5 points behind! Bulmaga played at Elo performance 2561 (!) adding new 17 points to her rating.

WGM Mihaela Sandu (Romania) and WIM Tereza Olsarova (Czech Republic) shared second place on 5,5 points, but Sandu took the silver on superior tie-break score.
