IM Sophie Milliet stormed through 5th World Online Women Blitz Qualifier

1st FIDE World Online Women Blitz Championship 2015The fifth qualifier of the unique FIDE World Online Women Blitz Championship 2015 was being played on Thursday, September 3rd, on the official FIDE Online platform.

30 players from 24 different countries took part in the event. French IM/WGM Sophie Milliet scored convincing 10/11 points to emerge a sole winner.

Peruvian WGM Deysi Cori and Bulgarian WGM Adriana Nikolova tied for the second place at 8 points each.

The other players who qualified for the Semifinal are: WIM Ann Lindsay Chumpitaz Carbajal PER (7.5), WFM Julia Alboredo BRA (7.0), Flor de María Zárate Oyague PER (7.0), WGM Yulia Kochetkova SVK (6.5) and WIM Cristine Rose Mariano PHI (6.5).

The schedule of the remaining qualifier tournaments is as follows (Date | GMT/UTC time):
– September 10th, 2015 | 13:00
– September 17th, 2015 | 7:00
– September 24th, 2015 | 13:00

The first stage of the Championship will be completed over eight (8) qualifier tournaments, followed by a semifinal with 64 players, and a final tournament with 10 players.

The competition takes place on the official FIDE Arena Online platform. FIDE Online uses AceGuard, anti-cheating and security software of new generation. Based on advanced behavioral analysis and the activities of the players, AceGuard indicates deviations from proper procedures of play.

Female players who represent a National Chess Federation, can play in the Championship. „FIDE flag“ players are not eligable to participate. Registrations for the FIDE event are continuously open. The players can compete from the comfort of their home, without costs associated with the hotels and airfares. A Platinum Membership is required.

A rich prize fund of 9000 USD will be awarded in the final tournament. Make sure to read the FULL Regulations.
