Albanian Chess Federation is organizing the International Open Chess Tournament “Durres 2014” on 1-8th November 2014 in the Conference Hall of the Hotel “Bleart”**** in Durres, one of the most ancient and significant cities of Albania, situated on the Adriatic Coast.
The 9-round Swiss tournament with a time control 90’/ 40 + 30′ + 30″ will be valid for FIDE rating and norms.
The entry fee will be 25 €, while U18 players will have to pay only 15 €. GMs, IMs and invited players are not obliged to pay an entry fee.
The total prize fund in the amount of 8.650 € will be awarded as follows:
Main prizes: 1.500 €/ 1.200 €/ 800 €/ 700 €/ 600 €/ 500 €/ 400 €/ 2 X 300 €/3 X 200 €/3 X 100 €
Best female: 200 €/ 100 €
Best junior (born 1993 or later): 150 €/ 100 €
Best U2000 player: 200 €/ 150 €/ 100 €
Best U2200 player: 200 €/ 150 €/ 100 €
The main prizes will be divided according to the Hort System, while category prizes will not be divided. In order for a special prize to be awarded in one of the categories, it is necessary that at least three players participate in the category.
