Interview with WCM Diana Assaubayeva

WCM Diana Assaubayeva from Kazakhstan, currently competing in the World Youth & Cadets Championship Girls U18 section, shared:
– “I have been playing in many youth events. I have participated in previous World Youth Championships, I have also played in the Asian youth events. I have to say in Porto Carras everything is very well organized, but I already knew that before coming here, as I played in the 2013 World Schools Championships here, where I took 8th place, and I know that the event is a top level”.

She added, “I am not happy with my chess here, I have had better tournaments. But the opponents are very strong and every game is interesting, I am gaining knowledge and experience and I hope to gain rating points in my next events.”

Diana Assaubayeva noted, “This is the largest event I have been to, and unfortunately it seems to be my last World Youth Chess Championship. Next year I will be 19 years old, but I will continue playing chess, so see you in the World Junior!”
