Italy wins Mitropa Cup

IMG_2289-1The Mitropa Cup is a 10-team round-robin event for the national teams of Central European countries. In its 37th edition for the Open section and 15th for the Women’s section it’s being held in Isola Capo Rizzuto, Italy from 31 May to 9 June 2018. Teams of four in the Open and in the Women’s event compete with a time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves followed by 30 minute to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1.
In the Open section the winners are Italy, for the second time after 2010. The team players are GM Daniele Vocaturo, GM Michele Godena, GM Luca Jr Moroni, GM Sabino Brunello, IM Alessio Valsecchi.
Second is Hungary and third Germany.
