Ivan Salgado first seed at the Spanish College Championship 2013

The Spanish College Championship 2013 is taking place on 17th-19th April at the Universidad de Extremadura in Badajoz, Spain.

It is a 9 round Swiss open with a rapid time control of 45 minutes for the whole game plus 5 seconds increments per move. The event will follow the FIDE rules for rapid play because it will be rated internationally.

There will be individual and collective prizes for universities. The result for each team will be determined by the score of their three best individual scores.

UNED has presented the strongest line-up, led by GM Ivan Salgado and IM Pablo Almagro. Universidad Granada will count with GM Enrique Rodriguez as the first seed.
