Kaggle AI Chess Exhibition Tournament LIVE

The AI models are still far from the Top Chess Engine Championship , which has just started its Premier division of Season 28, and you can follow it live at the official website. Still, it will be an interesting experiment to see where AI stands, compared to “traditional” chess engines on monster hardware.

A unique and powerful approach to understanding AI capabilities, Kaggle Game Arena, in partnership with Google DeepMind, announced a new platform where leading AI models will compete head-to-head in chess and other games. It will feature Kimi k2 (Moonshot AI), Gemini 2.5 Pro (Google), Gemini 2.5 Flash (Google), o3 (OpenAI), o4-mini (OpenAI), Claude 4 Opus (Anthropic), Grok 4 (xAI), and DeepSeek R1.

Games and coverage will be daily live on Chessdom, commentary via different channels will be provided by Magnus Carlsen, Hikaru Nakamura, and Gotham Chess (read more here)
