The 2018 Kazakhstan Championship is a 12-player single round-robin taking place from 20-30 April in Almaty. The winner not only becomes the Kazakhstan Champion but also gains the right to play in the Asian Individual Championship and on the Kazakhstan team. The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. The tournament is organised by the Kazakhstan Chess Federation and the Shakhmardan Yessenov Foundation.
