Khanim Balajayeva is the winner in Azerbaijan Women’s Championship

Baku Chess Palace 2The Azerbaijan Women’s Championship was a 9-round Swiss open which took place in ACF in Baku from 18-26 February.

The leader after 8 rounds Balajayeva made draw with white against Narmin Soyunlu, while WGM Zeinab Mamedjarova, who needed a win, lost against Gunay Mammadzada.

So in the end the winner is WFM Khanim Balajayeva with 6,5 points out of 9 with better tie-break from the second WGM Gunay Mammadzada.

Third is IM Gulnar Mammadova with 6 points.
