The Julius Baer Generation Cup is the 7th event of the Meltwater Champions Chess Tour and takes place from 18-25 September on chess24.com. The event featured 16 world-class players spanning the age spectrum, but the field got cut in half yesterday as the preliminary stage of the event concluded. The top eight players advanced to the Knockout stage: Magnus Carlsen, Arjun Erigaisi, Hans Niemann, Praggnanandhaa, Vincent Keymer, Le Quang Liem, Christopher Yoo and Levon Aronian, and Magnus Carlsen, Arjun Erigaisi, Vincent Keymer and Le Quang Liem made it to the semi-finals.
