Cuban top Grandmaster Leinier Dominguez will visit Webster University in Saint Louis to participate in a blitz chess tournament and give a lecture on the development of chess in Cuba, local media reported.
At 2757 Elo Dominguez is currently ranked as 13th player in the world. This will be the second trip to the U.S. for Dominguez, where in 2011 he participated in the “SPICE Cup”.
His two-week agenda includes several lectures to amateur players and college students (at Webster University).
Dominguez recently won the fourth stage of the FIDE Grand Prix in Thessaloniki, Greece. In August he will participate in the World Chess Cup in Tromsø, Norway.
