The US Chess Championship 2022 is taking place from 5-20 October at the Saint Louis Chess Club. Fourteen of the country’s strongest chess players battle for the national title and $60,000 in a classical round-robin event with Fabiano Caruana, Levon Aronian and Wesley So headlining the field which includes Hans Niemann as the 8th seed.
Hans Niemann had a perfect start at the tournament, but yesterday suffered a heartbreaking loss as he missed several chances to draw a hard-holding position against Fabiano Caruana.
