Levon Aronian on classical chess #TweetOftheDay

The Ian Nepomniachtchi vs Ding Liren, aka Nepo – Ding match of the World Chess Championship 2023 is currently in a situation unseen in over 40 years. Both players are exchanging blows and four out of the six games are decisive. This prompted many to forget the general “World Championship without the World Champion” sentiment before the match or the coverage problems – the lack of website on time and the failure to broadcast the opening ceremony.

The interest is growing with every game (something we often follow on Twitter) and today Levon Aronian summed up the chess community feeling.

At Chessdom we second the thoughts of Levon Aronian. Classical chess is the past, present and future of this sport and the values it brings should be respected and nurtured.
