Chess is slowly making its way back as the traditional sport of Linares

The traditional round robin tournament of Linares in the mythical hotel Hanibal has not been held since 2010 due to economic reasons. This year Ciudad de Linares step by step revives the tradition of chess in the city. First it was CECLUB Primera Division, then the Women Spanish Chess Championship, now at this moment the National championship is being played, and very soon a closed round robin for women is starting.

IRT Cerrado Feminino Ciudad de Linares will be played from 7th to 15th of September 2013. It will be a round robin with the participation of IM Sopiko Guramishvili, WGM Deimante Dulyte, IM Anastasia Savina, IM Sophie Milliet, IM Anna Matnadze, WIM Marina Brunello, WFM Laura Collado Barbas, WIM Amalia Aranaz Murillo, WIM Yudania Hernandez Estevez, and Laura Martin Perez.
