Closing ceremony and retrospection

The fantastic Mtel Masters 2007

Closing ceremony

The M-Tel Masters 2007, a great tournament where 5 out of 6 players had chances to grab the victory in the last round, is over. These were 20 days of great joy and we are sure the Chessdom team will be back in Bulgaria in 2008, to cover the first Grand Slam edition of Mtel Masters.

Alex Brunetti – Veselin Topalov

This is how the event started. Alex Brunetti had the chance to play with Veselin Topalov and enjoyed a nice post-mortem lesson in the end. Next year the honor to play against Topalov will be for the new winner of “Play like Topalov”. Jason Juett guessed 250 moves, which is 41 more than Alex Brunetti. Jason, here is a gist of what awaits you in Sofia in 2008.

Levski vs Chess Utd.

We could enjoy many fun events around the Mtel Masters. One of them was the Foot-Chess game between Levski and Chess Utd. The event will happen again on May 13, 2008. We got in touch with the managers of the two teams, but they do not want to reveal what changes they will make in the lineup.

Silvio Danailov about the Grand Slam

A special thanks goes to the organizer of the event, Mr. Silvio Danailov. He was happy with the Mtel Masters 2007 and said he now wants to concentrate on the Grand Slam. A few days earlier he had an exclusive interview with Chessdom.
