Mustafa Yilmaz is the Winner of the Turkish Chess Championship

The 2022 Turkish Chess Championship took place from 25 November to 3 December in Keymer. It was a 10-player round-robin tournament with time control of 90 minutes for 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus a 30-second increment starting from move one. 

The rating favourite GM Mustafa Yilmaz won the event scoring 6.5/9 points. He was a full point ahead of a group of four players who tied for second with 5.5 points, each. Tiebreaks criteria favored GM Mert Yilmazyerli who came second, FM Huseyin Can Agdelen won bronze, FM Alparslan Isik finished in the fourth place, and Efe Metehan Yavuz came fifth.
