Chessdom.com achieved a record day of 2009 during round 1 of Tal Memorial. A total of 110 000 users joined the site for the coverage of the event, viewing close to 300 000 articles and pages of the site in 24 hours period. The visitors came from 139 countries and territories, and each of them spent average 12 minutes on the site.

These statistics improve the records set by Topalov – Kamsky’s highest day by 12% on number of unique visitors, and the Kasparov – Karpov’s blitz games by 17% on the same data, setting the new Chessdom record for 2009.

The numbers, however, are still far from the achieved during the ECC 2008 and the match Anand – Kramnik, but there is high possibility to attract even more interest during the upcoming World Cup 2009.
