GM Zvonko Stanojoski taking the lead after seven rounds
After seven rounds of the 2nd International Chess Festival “Sport Summer 2009”, GM Zvonko Stanojoski from FYROM is leading the contest with 6.0 points. Stanojoski conceded two draws against lower rated players, but then he added steam and beat the then-leader IM Filip Pančevski and Bulgarian GM Evgeni Janev. For the next round, Stanojoski is paired against the experienced Grandmaster Boško Abramović.
IM Filip Pančevski is still in competition for the GM norm as he is currently sharing second place with 5.5 points, together with GM Abramović and GM Tosić. FM Boroljub Zlatanović and FM Dejan Branković are pushing strong for IM norms. The tournament is taking place in Hotel Petrus in Paraćin, Serbia, and finishes on 26th August.

The 5th Memorial Chess Tournament “Uroš Dinić” was held on Saturday, 22nd August, which was a rest day for the main event. This rapid tournament attracted 93 participants and among them 8 Grandmasters, 7 International masters and 13 FIDE Masters.
After 9 exciting rounds, rapid specialist FM Boroljub Zlatanović emerged as sole winner, having collected 7.5 points. GM Miroslav Tošić, IM Jordan Ivanov, GM Slobodan Martinović and IM Miroslav Miljković shared 2-5th with 7.0 points each.

Chessdom Executive Board
On Friday, 21st August, the Chessdom Executive Board held a meeting on the boat “Bela Ladja” in nearby Ćuprija. This was a good opportunity to visit Paraćin in the afternoon, reunite with many old friends and get to know new people.
