WGM Zawadzka and IM Dworakowska extend the advantage of Poland

Poland continued their slow, but steady advance in the standings at the World Women Team Chess Championship. In a match against the unpredictable team of China B, WGM Zawadzka and IM Dworakowska defeated WIM Zhang Xiaowen and IM Wang Yu A. Tan Zhongyi was the only player for China B to score a full point, but the draw n board 4 by WGM Majdan gave Poland the victory.

This is the third time in a row Poland wins with a minimum score 2,5:1,5. In round one that was the score against USA, in round 2 they beat with the same result Vietnam

One of the main contenders for the title, Russia, continue trailing near the end of the table with 2 draws and 1 lost match. This time Russia was held by Armenia after WFM Gunina and WGM Galojan achieved victories for each team, while the top two boards finished draw.

USA met fierce resistance by Vietnam. The underdogs from the Asian continent showed in previous rounds their rating should not be trusted. WGM Hoang Thi Bao Tram defeated Irina Krush on board 1. IM Goletiani and WIM Melekhina drew their games, and it was WFM Abrahamian Tatev who saved the day for the American team.

China finally recovered and won their match against India 3:1. IM Harika and WGM Karavade held their opponents to draw, but GM Zhao Xue and WGM Huang Qian gave the convincing victory to China.

With the same score Georgia defeated Ukraine to take clear second position, a point behind Poland.
