The Candidate Matches for the World Chess Championship will most likely take place in the Korston Hotel Kazan, Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Rafis Burganov stated for Tatar-Inform agency.

Last week FIDE announced the dates of the event, which will take place from 3rd to 27th May in Kazan, Russia. The winner of the knockout tournament will challenge the World Champion Viswanathan Anand in the match which is scheduled for 2012.

Rafis Burganov explained that all players must be lodged in one place, which will also host the games. A conference room with a stage and 400-500 seats for the audience is also a standard. For this reason Korston is identified as perfect solution.

The Tatarstan official said that the project of building a Chess Palace in Kazan will most likely be abandoned. FIDE President will visit the Republic of Tatarstan in December and then an alternative solution in Novo-Savinovsk will be proposed.
