Iranian Chess Championships

GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami and WFM Ghazal Hakimifard win the titles

Iranian Chess Championship Finals for Men and Women took place on 3-14 March, 2010. GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami convincingly won the men championship, leaving the second placed Asgari Morteza full three points behind. This is Ghaem Maghami’s eighth title of the national champion.

The 16-years old WFM Ghazal Hakimifard defended the lead and eventually won the women championship by collecting 10 points from twelve games. Last year champion WGM Atousa Pourkashian finished second with 8.5. Results and photos by Reza Mahdipour are bellow.
