RCF signs contracts with players and coaches

The Russian Chess Federation has announced that the individual contracts with members of the national teams, who will represent the country at the 39th World Chess Olympiad, have been signed. The status of the coaching staff, which at this stage of preparation counts seven trainers and captains, is also defined with contracts.

The RCF press release states: – The purpose of this program is inclusion of the leading players and trainers in the chess popularization activities, participation in seminars, special tournaments and events for children and youth.

“Harmonization of the individual contracts with the RCF lawyers was carried over the past six weeks, and as a result almost all suggestions of the players and coaches were taken into consideration” – Grandmaster Evgeny Bareev, the head coach of the Russian national teams, explained.

In addition, the contracts stipulate in detail the financial obligations to the team members and coaches, including the payment of coaches and captains at the training camps and during the Olympiad, as well as prizes for the players if they win a medal.
$ 50,000, $ 25,000 and $ 15,000 for first, second and third place, respectively – are promised for the men’s team; while $ 25,000, $ 12,000 and $ 8,000 – are reserved for the women’s team.
