Cuban Teams for the Chess Olympiad

, the team of Cuba for Dresden 2008 Olympic games has been announced.

GM Leinier Dominguez, who has recently jumped over the magical 2700-elo barrier, will lead the Cuban men’s team at the forthcoming Dresden Chess Olympiad.

Dominguez, who is currently rated 2708 and ranked 25th on the FIDE list, will be accompanied by the national champion GM Yuniesky Quesada (2573), GM Lazaro Bruzon (2592), GM Holden Hernandez (2582) and GM Jesus Nogueiras (2574). This lineup has an average rating of 2606.

Women’s team will be composed of GM Maritza Arribas (2323), GM Sulennis Piña (2285), IM Lisandra Ordaz (2302), IM Oleinny Linares (2261) and IM Yaniet Marrero (2260).
