North American Youth Chess Championship 2017

International Chess School (ICS), Chess Tech, US Chess Federation, New Jersey State Chess Federation, FIDE Americas and FIDE, invite players from USA, Mexico, Canada and Bermudas in the categories under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 (boys and girls) to participate in the 13th Annual North American Youth Championship, in Morristown New Jersey, USA.

The event will take place from 12-16th June at the Hyatt Regency Morristown in Morristown, New Jersey, USA.

Each federation from North America can register one (1) player in each of the categories – under 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 (boys and girls), the maximum number of twelve (12) players (“invited players”).

Tournament is Open to all players representing national chess federations in North America. Each Federation can register unlimited number of players. Players may register individually by providing their FIDE ID or ID of their respective national federation.

Champions of the age categories U8, U10, U12 will qualify to play at the 2017 World Cadets Chess Championships in Poços de Caldas MG Brasil. Full board (accommodation and meals) will be provided by WCCS organizers.

The tournament format is 9-round Swiss with the time control 90 min + 30 sec.

Titles to be awarded:
U18: Gold (1st, on tie-breaks, if necessary) – IM/WIM Title
1st Equal (down to 3rd place on tie-breaks) – IM/WIM Norm
Silver & Bronze (2nd and 3rd on tie-breaks, if necessary) – FM\WFM Title
U16: Gold – IM/WIM Norm
1st equal (down to 3rd place on tie-breaks)–FM\WFM Title
Silver & Bronze CM\WCM Title
U14 & U12: Gold – FM\WFM Title Silver & Bronze – CM\WCM Title
U10 & U8: First Equal (down to 3rd place on tie-breaks), Silver & Bronze – CM\WCM Title
