Open International d’’Echecs de Martinique

The 2013 Open International d’Echecs de la Martinique was organized by the Ligue d’Echecs de Martinique from 3-7th April at the Hotel la Bateliere 20 rue des Alizes 97233 Schoelcher Martinique.

72 players from 11 federations competed in the 9-round Swiss event. The field also included eight Grandmasters and nine players from the French island Guadeloupe.

Ukrainian Grandmaster Sergey Fedorchuk, who is based in France, is the outright winner of the tournament with 7,5/9 points. One of the organizers, Gilles Suez-Panama, will be pleased to have sneaked in between the Grandmasters on the shared 5th place.
