Pfalz Chess Open 2016

germany-flagThe Pfalz Open 2016 will take place from the 5th of February to the 9th of February 2016 in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany.

The seventh edition of tournament features 71 players from 6 federations; 61 of the competitors are from Germany. Participants will compete in 9 rounds of Swiss matches. The total prize fund of the event is 16777 euro.

GM Ivan Ivanisevic (2665) from Serbia is the top seeded player for this open. Other names to look out for include Vladimir Baklan from Ukraine, who won the 5th edition of the tournament, Milos Perunovic and Alexandre Danin, who won the 2015 edition of the tournament. The top seeded German player is U18 FM Thore Perske.
