Philadelphia Open 2015

The 9th Annual Philadelphia Open will be held over the Easter weekend from April 1-5, 2014, at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown, 1201 Market Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The event has 7 sections: Open, Under 2200, Under 2000, Under 1800, Under 1600, Under 1400 and Under 1100.

The Open section has a 5-day schedule (April 1-5), 9-round Swiss, with the time control 40/2, SD/30, d10. The section will be rated with FIDE, GM and IM norms are possible. Last year winner was GM Gata Kamsky.

All other sections have either 4-day (April 2-5), 3-day (April 3-5) or 2-day (April 4-5) schedules to play in. 7-round Swiss, 40/2, SD/30 d10.

The event has a $80,000 prize fund, based on 500 entries, with $60,000 minimum guaranteed.

Open: $7000-4000-2000-1000-800-700-600-500-400-400, clear or tiebreak first $200 bonus, FIDE Under 2400/Unr $2000-1000.
Under 2200/Unr: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-300-300-300.
Under 2000/Unr: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-300-300-300, unrated limit $2000.
Under 1800: $5000-2500-1200-800-600-500-400-300-300-300.
Under 1600: $4000-2000-1000-700-500-400-300-300-300-300.
Under 1400: $3000-1500-1000-700-500-400-300-300-300-300.
Under 1100/Unr: $1000-700-500-400-300-300-200-200, unrated limit $300.
Unrated not allowed in Under 1800, Under 1600 or Under 1400 sections.

The entry fees in the upper sections are ranging from 205 to 400 USD.
