Record participation at the Swensen’s Rapid Age Group Championships

The Swensen’s Rapid Age Group Championships has become one of the signature events of the Malaysian Chess Festival being held from 18-28 September 2015 at Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

It is traditionally held on the day between the end of the ASTRO Merdeka Rapid Team Championships and the start of the IGB International Open Championship where the top players in the region would be battling for honours with many others also hoping to win international title norms.

With 449 players so far registered for the one day rapid event held on 20 September 2015, a new participation record has already been broken.
