Rector Cup MGSU

The Rector Cup MGSU “Our Heritage” is set to take place on 8-11th November at the Moscow State Civil Engineering University.

The tournament will be held over 11 rounds of Swiss system, with time control of 15 minutes per game plus 10 seconds per move.

The tournament will be recognized as a stage of the Russian Cup in rapid chess – Rapid Grand Prix of Russia in 2012.

Initially it was planned to have the prize fund of at least 1 million RUB, but this is finally reduced to 700,000 RUB (approx 17,400 EUR). The winner will earn 2500 EUR, while the top female player will receive 750 EUR. There will also be special prizes for the juniors and veterans.
