Remco Heite Invitational 2014

WolvegaThe Remco Heite Invitational Chess Tournament 2014 will take place on 14-16th November 2014 at Hotel Holland Inn in Wolvega, a town in the Netherlands.

The event will be a 6 player single round-robin tournament with the strong participation of:
GM Loek Van Wely NED – shared first in 2012 and Dutch champion in 2014;
GM Gawain Jones ENG – winner of the 120th Scottish Chess Championship;
GM Daniel Fridman GER – tournament winner in 2012);
GM Sipke Ernst NED – shared first in 2012;
GM Dimitri Reindrman NED – Dutch champion in 2013;
GM Erwin L’Ami NED – winner of the Open tournament in 2012.

The Invitation tournament is an event that is organized every two years. The first edition, in 2006, was won by Loek van Wely. In 2008 first prize went to the Polish grandmaster Bartlomiej Macieja. Englishman Luke McShane won in 2010. Daniel Fridman won the tournament in 2012.

During each round of the Invitation Tournament IM Gert Ligterink will be the commentator again.

After the opening on Thursday night 13th November, the first round will be played on Friday 14th November. On Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November two rounds will be played daily.
