Russia, Ukraine with crushing victories in ETCC R2 women section

The defending champion Russia continued the victorious row and defeated Hungary by 3-1 in the 2nd round of the European Team Chess Championships. Tatiana Kosintseva and Alexandra Kosteniuk won their games against Anna Rudolf and Anita Gara respectively.

Ukraine signed the same result against Bulgaria. Former European champion Kateryna Lahno (interview with her here) beat former World champion Antoaneta Stefanova with black pieces. Anna Ushenina extended the lead on the third board.

Georgia scored a narrow 2.5-1.5 victory versus Poland, while Germany and Netherlands exchanged punches left and right but the final result was even, 2-2.

Elina Danielian won another important game for Armenian team to overcome Croatia by 2.5-1.5.
