SPICE Cup 2017

The 2017 SPICE Cup Open, sponsored by Webster University and the Susan Polgar Foundation, is scheduled to take place on 21-26th October at the Clayton Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.

The 9-round Swiss tournament is open to the players rated over 2100 FIDE and will provide opportunity for GM/IM norms. Time Control: G/90 + 30 second increment from move 1.

The total prize fund is $16,500 guaranteed.

U/2400 FIDE $600-$400-$250-$150
U/2250 FIDE $400-$250-$150
Top Woman $500-$250 (Can win both open + women prize)
Top Senior $250 (Born after December 31, 1966 – Can win both open + senior prize)

Limited FREE hotel accommodation (double occupancy) at the Clayton Plaza Hotel available to foreign GMs.

Entry fees:
FREE to all players 2200+, and foreign players with 2100+ FIDE (must complete all 9 rounds), if registered by October 1, 2017. $100 later or on site. The rating minimums are to be met at the time of registration (or at any time starting June 2017 until the start of the tournament).
