SPICE Cup Open 2013 Starting

The first round of the 2013 SPICE Cup Open is starting at midnight (CET) and the tournament continues until 19th October. The event is sponsored by Webster University and the Susan Polgar Foundation and takes place in Saint Louis, Missouri.

The SPICE Cup Open offers $11,000 guaranteed prize fund and the opportunity to win GM/IM norms. Minimum rating (FIDE) is 2100 and the number of participants is limited to 50.

Last year winner was GM Ray Robson and 4 IM/GM norms were achieved.
