SportAccord World Mind Games, Beijing 2014

SportAccord2014The SportAccord World Mind Chess Games 2014 are scheduled to take place on 11-17th December 2014 in Beijing, China.

One of the strongest rapid and blitz events of the year will meet some of the world’s top Grandmasters.

In the men section we find Levon Aronian, Alexander Grischuk, Ian Nepomniachtchi, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Vassily Ivanchuk, Lenier Dominguez Perez, Ruslan Ponomariov, Teimour Radjabov, Boris Gelfand, Petar Leko, Etienne Bacrot, Anish Giri, Yue Wang, Radoslaw Wojtaszek and Hao Wang.

In the women section participants are Yifan Hou, Anna Muzychuk, Humpy Koneru, Nana Dzagnidze, Alexandra Kosteniuk, Antoaneta Stefanova, Valentina Gunina, Xue Zhao, Wenjun Ju, Tatiana Kosintseva, Elisabeth Paehtz, Dronavalli Harika, Anna Ushenna, Mariya Muzychuk, Bela Khotenashvili and Pia Cramling.

World Mind Games are organized and held by a famous and respectable organization called SportAccord which is the umbrella organization for both Olympic and non-Olympic sports as well as a major organizers of conferences and sporting events. The World Mind Games was held for the first time in 2008 and consisted of 5 disciplines: chess, bridge, draughts (checkers), go, and xiangqi (Chinese chess).
