Stockfish and Komodo share the lead after 11 rounds

stockfish-4Stockfish and Komodo are provisional leaders of Stage 2 of the top computer chess championship TCEC. The two engines are with 8,5/11, with Stockfish holding the better tiebreak at the moment.

The are closely followed by Gull 2.2 with 8,0/11, and the ex-leader Hiarcs with 7,5/11.

The top seeded Houdini is finally catching up with the leaders’s pack, sharing 5th-6th with the Stage 1 winner Bouquet, both with 7,0/11.

A total of ten engines will qualify for Stage 3 of TCEC. The fight in the remaining rounds will be fierce and there is high chance that a 3000+ ELO participant can be out of the competition at this early stage. Rybka and Critter are closest to qualification with 5,5/11, Naum (2978 ELO) is with 5,0/11. Shredder, Spike, Spark, and Junior all share the 10th position, with Equinox and Jonny 1/2 points behind.
