The 2025 edition of the Zimbabwe Chess Championships took place in Harare, 8-12 April. The open and women chess championships collected the top players of the country in two round robin events.
Tapiwa Jele is the 2025 Zimbabwe Chess Champion for men. He gained 7,0/9, the same score as Vitalis Mapuranga, but took gold with better tiebreaks. The third position was shared by the two titled players in the event – FM Zhemba Jemusse and FM Roy Mwadzura – a point behind the winner.
