Telenor World Cup Blitz

Telenor World Cup Blitz, the first of the many planned side events during the 2013 World Chess Cup, was held on 13th August at the Scandic Hotel in Tromsø.

The tournament was played as a 10-round Swiss with the time control 3’+2”. World Cup players, seconds, accompanying persons and local chess fans formed the field of 50 players.

Norwegian Grandmaster Simen Agdestein, who was eliminated in round 1 of World Cup by Etienne Bacrot, stormed through the event to claim a convincing victory with 9,0/10 points.
