Sberbank Open chess tournament is announced to take place on 3-8th June at the main arena of Euro 2012 – NSK “Olympic” in Kiev, Ukraine.
The event will have three competitions: A tournament for top-level Grandmasters, B tournament is open for children, C tournament is reserved for the employees of Sberbank Group.
The main A tournament will be a 10-player round robin with rapid time control. Participants are Veselin Topalov (Bulgaria), Sergey Karjakin, Anatoly Karpov, Evgeny Tomashevsky (Russia), Peter Leko (Hungary), Arkadij Naiditsch (Germany), Sergei Zhigalko (Belarus), Pavel Eljanov, Anton Korobov and Alexander Areshchenko (Ukraine).
Tournament organizer is Sberbank Russia.
