Tris-Ann Richards is elected President of St Lucia Chess Federation for a 3rd consecutive term. “The work we have achieved over the years has been a testament to my love and dedication to the sport and my country. May we continue to reach higher heights,” says the President of St Lucia Chess Federation.

Tris-Ann Richards is a Woman Candidate Master (WCM) and an active figure in the chess community. Beyond her playing career, Tris-Ann is committed to growing chess in Saint Lucia, with a particular focus on encouraging female participation. She has initiated programs like “Chess with Tris” and “The Queen’s Gambit Challenge” to teach and inspire women and girls in the sport. Originally from Jamaica, where chess enjoys a strong following, she has leveraged her background to foster development in Saint Lucia’s relatively young chess federation, established in 2020. Her efforts also extend to social impact, using chess as a tool to empower and engage communities.
